Champagne Palmer & Co has unveiled its new state-of-the-art winery located outside of Reims and close to the house’s Grand and Premier Crus vineyards in the Montagne de Reims.

The High Environmental Quality (HEQ) sustainably designed winery has a storage capacity of 21,352hl and will house the brand’s reserve wines, which form the backbone of Champagne Palmer’s wines.

Designed to be bioclimatic and to maximise natural light, the new winery uses the natural slope of the land to facilitate flow by gravity and features a bespoke tasting room.

The new site “perfectly reflects” Champagne Palmer’s commitment to following the path of innovation and sustainable development, said chief executive officer and winemaker Rémi Vervier.

“Every detail has been studied in depth to ensure that the building meets the highest quality and environmental standards,” he said, describing the new winery as a “flag-bearer for Palmer’s respect for sustainable development, as well the House’s growth, and “signature impeccably high standards”.

Founded in 1947, Champagne Palmer has 415hl of vineyards, comprising about forty crus, with over 200 hectares classified as Grand and Premier Crus in the Montagne de Reims, with reserve wines playing an essential role.
